I found this really interesting video from 2010 on data visualisation studies at Stanford University.  An interesting discussion unfolds about the importance of visualising data.  Tapping into our most unique human senses we can better understand the information and data surrounding us.

Of course data visualisation has developed in leaps and bounds.  Today there is a range of ever increasing data visualisations and software to produce your own.

The video suggests that in the future, data visualisation could be used to make business decisions, understand processes and behaviour patterns.  What is your opinion on this?

Does this interest you?  Take a look at some of the interesting data visualisation (infographics) we like on pinterest.
